    Abstract

The National Protected Area System Plan is the end product of 2 years of work by the Protected Areas Task Force, an inter-ministerial group charged with the development of a coherent approach to protected area establishment and management on a national scale. The process has involved numerous expert consultancies and widespread consultation, and thus represents the consensus view among those people directly involved or affected by protected areas in Belize
